Junior Gage Daugherty went 8-10 from the three-point line Wednesday night against Union, spurring the Carbon Dinos to the 63-57 non-region win.
Daugherty went 9-12 from the field overall and finished with a career-high 33 points. He also was 7-8 from the free-throw line.
Despite leading by 10 after three quarters of play, Carbon withstood a Union rally in the fourth to claim its 11th victory of the season.
Brad Williams was the next highest scorer for the Dinos, pouring in nine points on 2-6 from the field, including two threes. The Dinos nailed 13 treys in the game on 20 attempts (65%). Kasey Moynier chipped in six points and Kyle Quinton added five.
Carbon (11-8, 2-2 Region 12) will host North Sanpete on Friday. The Dinos beat the Hawks 70-66 back on Jan 15 in Mt. Pleasant. The game can be viewed live on ETV Channel 10 at 7 p.m.
