Pinnacle Elementary students understand the significance of enjoying Thanksgiving dinner with family and loved ones. For some families, finances may prohibit such a meal from hitting the dinner table.
This year, Pinnacle Elementary conducted a fundraising event called Dimes for Dinners. According to principal Mark Stuckenschneider, containers were set up in each classroom for students to gather spare change in. A cotton candy and popcorn sale was also conducted to raise additional funds.
In the end, students raised $991.86. The money will go toward Thanksgiving meals for families within the school who are struggling to provide the holiday meal.
Mrs. Housekeeper’s fifth grade class raised $182.16 while Mr. Davis’ second grade class gathered $128.66.
