With only one game remaining before the playoffs begin, the only thing left to be determined for the Dino basketball team is where they will be playing. With a 55-53 win against North Sanpete Wednesday night, the picture became a little clearer.
Derek Young and Michael Peczuh each scored 14 points in the win. Bryce Blackburn added 11.
The Dinos entered the night in third place and needed the win against the Hawks to keep pace with Delta who sits in fourth. Carbon and Delta will play in the season finale for both teams on Friday. A win against the Rabbits will ensure an overall third place finish for the Dinos and a matchup with Region 11’s Ben Lomond. A loss would necessitate a coin toss between the teams to decide playoff seeding. A fourth place seeding would pit the Dinos against 3A’s number one team in Morgan.
Six seniors, including Peczuh, Young, Blackburn, Dakota Cisneros, Jordan Blanc, and Wyatt Hansen, were honored before the game.
