Despite several turnovers throughout the night, the Carbon High Dino basketball team beat the Uintah High Utes 57-49 Wednesday in Price.
Jordan Blanc and Dakota Cisneros led the Dino offense with 11 points each. Clay Finkbiner added 10 points.
Carbon’s coaches were pleased with the win, but they acknowledged the team could have played better.
“We need to take care of the ball a little better,” said coach Kyle Wilson. “We had a pretty high number of turnovers tonight.”
Wilson was particularly pleased with the Dinos’ style of play.
“I think for the most part, especially the first half, we kept under control running the floor,” Wilson said. “I thought we took [the ball] to the basket and went to the [free throw] line pretty easily.”
Uintah’s Mathew Cushing scored a game-high 24 points.
Carbon improved to 6-2 on the season. The Dinos next visit Grand on Jan. 4 at 7 p.m.
The game was broadcast live on ETV Channel 10 and will be rebroadcast throughout the coming weeks.
