After losing their first five games of the season, the Carbon Dinos took out their frustrations on the Union Cougars Wednesday at Ernie Gardner Field in Helper, winning 13-1.
Anthony Maclean struck out eight Cougars en route to the win. He allowed just one earned run and three hits over four innings.
Four players notched two hits in the game, led by Cody Lowe who went 2-2 with two walks. He knocked in two runs on the day as well. Jayden Flemmett, Trey Richardson and Mitch Olson each had two hits apiece and a combined four RBIs. Carbon had 11 total hits in the game, including four for extra bases.
The Dinos scored all of their runs in the first four innings, highlighted by 10 runs over the second and third. The Cougars scored their only run in the top of the fourth.
Carbon (1-5, 0-0 Region 12) will host Emery (1-4, 0-1 Region 15) on Friday at 3 p.m. in Helper.
