Eagle Scout projects are well known as they demonstrate leadership and service to benefit the people in the community. Alex Thayn, a local Boy Scout from Troop 282, went before the Price City council on Wednesday to finalize plans for his Eagle Scout project.

Thayn’s project is designing and placing a new sign at the entrance of the Cliffview Cemetery. The project was granted conceptual approval for in June 2015 and has been a working project since. Thayn presented three different layouts for the new sign, which he designed himself.

The newly placed sign will be made of steel to match the rustic background of the cemetery. The size of the sign is planned to be 4’x6′ with a two foot gap between the bottom of the sign and the ground.

When asked about the plans to place the sign, Thayn stated that he plans to bring in members from the Carbon High School football team to help erect and place the sign. The Price City Council approved the project and is eager to see the work completed.
