Both the Emery baseball and softball teams made the trip to Moab on Tuesday to kick off the Region 15 season.
Both struggled mightily from the plate as they were outscored by a 26-1 margin. Coach Steven Gordon’s team was upended 11-1 in six innings after the Red Devils scored three in the bottom of the sixth to end the game early. The Lady Spartans played just three innings, losing the game by a 15-0 margin. The Lady Red Devils scored 10 runs in the first inning and never looked back.
Emery baseball (1-4, 0-1 Region 15) will play at Carbon (0-5, 0-0 Region 12) on Friday in Helper. The Lady Spartans (1-2, 0-1 Region 15) will play in a tournament this weekend in St. George.
