Emery’s Tyson Roper allowed just one run as the Spartans got the victory over Monticello on Friday to remain undefeated in region play.
The Spartans came out with two quick runs in the first. Monticello earned its only run in the fourth, where Emery answered with another run of its own. The Spartans notched two and three runs in the fifth and sixth innings, respectively, to bury Monticello.
Roper and Ethan Tuttle notched extra base hits for Emery, both grabbing a double apiece.
The Spartans will look to finish region play undefeated on Tuesday at North Sevier. Emery ran away with a win against the team 14-4 on March 10.
