The Emery County Care and Rehabilitation Resident of the Month for June 2019 is Larry Saling.
Larry was born and raised in Hailey, ID. He also lived in Sun Valley, ID where he learned how to ski at the age of six. Larry’s father was a ski Instructor and forrest ranger. His family moved to Pleasant Grove, UT where he graduated from Pleasant Grove High School.
Larry was enrolled in the Navy Reserve while in high school. After he graduated, he joined the Navy and served on an air craft carrier as an electronic technician. The air craft carrier had 3,000 men on board.
After his military service, he studied at Brigham Young University (BYU) and received a degree in communications and public relations.
Larry was in his senior year at BYU when he met his wife Annette. They have been married for 50 years and have four children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Larry has traveled all over the world and has been to Japan, China, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Germany. He served a mission in London, England.
His hobbies are mountain biking, skiing, reading and traveling. His favorite drink is Pepsi and V8 and his favorite food is homemade ice cream and white cake.
