There was no shortage of entertainment, competitions, vendors and fun at the Emery County Fair last week. The fair committee and director Sandra Huntington planned four action-packed days throughout the past months to ensure there was something for everyone.
The event began on Wednesday as 4-H competitors displayed their exhibits for all to pursue. The night was rounded out with a lamb fry, trap shoot and an ice cream social.
Thursday featured the ever-popular senior citizen lunch and bingo to begin the day’s festivities while the Emery County Aquatic Center welcomed all for free swim. The lamb fry continued that evening with entertainment by the Route 10 Band. The special needs talent show highlighted some of the county’s best along with a roping competition, bike races and a pickleball tournament.
Friday featured another full line up, beginning with a pet contest, pony and unicorn rides, and the annual baby contest. Animals were on display in the exhibits and the stage was bustling with entertainers and quick competitions. Games for kids were abundant as the night rounded out with the ATV rodeo, laser tag and a nighttime golf tournament.
Saturday started bright and early with a 5K at 6 a.m. Castle Dale’s Main Street was then packed for the annual parade before fair goers made their way to the many other activities that day, including a variety of entertainment, games, contests and more. The fair was capped of by the Swell Country Fest.
