Emery County Historical Society members and other citizens met at the Mayor’s Park in Ferron on Saturday morning to travel with Merrill Duncan to The Box and other interesting sites in the area. Before leaving Ferron, and throughout the tour, Duncan told stories about old timers.
Those who participated drove down to The Box in their own cars, then hiked to the historical sites to see some of the indian writings. After seeing the indian writings, Duncan led the tour to a unique geological formation, also known as Ferron boulders. Many of the people enjoyed seeing the historical sites and learning more about their history.
The Emery County Historical Society will be doing another tour in April of 2016 for those who weren’t able to attend.
