Thirteen gatherers met at the Blue Sage Arena in Castle Dale on Saturday hoping to capture the awards at the state gathering.
Divided by age into three divisions, juniors, intermediate, and seniors, participants came from around the state to compete. Each age group participated in four events: test, working ranch horse, ranch sorting, and heading/heeling.
All around champion in the junior division was Stace Gilbert, followed by Makaila Peacock, Gracelyn Horton, Zeek Weber, and Ryleigh Allred. In the intermediate division Zane Keech captured all around, with Jarin Allen second, Maryn Allred third, Mckinlee Duncan fourth, followed by Braylee Shepherd, Marti Vail, Ada Poulter, Stockton Jensen and Haylie Rich. In the senior division Josie Warner placed first, Rance Jensen second, and Brandi Carling third. Also placing in the senior division were Chris Reil, Tate Shepherd, McKray Duncan and Skyleigh Alder.
All participants received prizes. Saddles were awarded to each of the first place all-around gatherers. These saddles were sponsored by the Emery County Tourism Bureau.
