Emery County Commission Chair Lynn Sitterud administered the oath of office to the newly elected officials of Emery County on Monday afternoon. He noted the oaths were conducted as soon is it was legal in order to get everyone to their offices so that they could begin their work on county business.
Taking the oath for Emery County were (from left to right) Brenda Tuttle, clerk/auditor; Mike Olsen, county attorney; Gil Conover, commissioner; Kent Wilson, commissioner; and Greg Funk, sheriff. All but Emery County Commissioner Conover are incumbents. Conover will fill the empty spot on the commission vacated by Commissioner Paul Cowley.
Conover is a resident of Ferron and has been in the area nearly his entire life. Married to Melody Conover, the duo boast two married sons living in Emery County. He deems his four grandchildren as the joy of his life.
