The Emery High Lady Spartans opened up the season strong with their first region win of the year.
Emery faced Grand Tuesday night and sealed the first two matches with a win. Grand then rallied with two wins of their own forcing a fifth match.
The Lady Spartans stepped up their game and defeated Grand in the fifth match, thus winning the game.
Emery will host South Sevier Thursday evening beginning at 7 p.m. The game may be viewed live on Channel 10.
