For the second time in a week, the Emery Spartans blew past the Monticello Buckaroos, winning Friday’s tilt 7-0, earning their fifth straight victory.

Zach Jorgensen and Easton Gordon kept the Monticello bats quiet, allowing just three hits in seven innings of work. Jorgensen went four innings of shutout ball, giving up just one hit while striking out eight. Gordon allowed just two hits in three innings, fanning four Buckaroos.

Gordon and Jorgensen did it at the plate as well. The duo combined to go 3-7 with three of the five total RBIs in game for Emery. Gordon had a triple as did Jordan Balletka and Kyson Stilson. Stilson went 3-3 in the game as well, bashing two doubles to go along with his triple. Balletka went 2-2 with two walks.

Emery (12-3, 3-1 2A East) will take on San Juan (8-7, 2-2 2A East) twice this week, beginning Tuesday in Blanding and Wednesday in Castle Dale.
