The Emery Spartans raced out to an early lead and ran by the Gunnison Bulldogs Friday night 53-36, picking up their seventh Region 15 win en route.
Koby Butler again had a monster game, scoring 24 of the team’s 53 point on the night. Zach Jorgensen pitched in a career-high 14, including four threes, which was also a career best. Bowdie Jacobson added seven points.
The Spartans took a commanding 44-25 lead into the fourth quarter.
Emery (17-2, 7-1 Region 15, #2 in 2A) will host two games this week to conclude its season, Wednesday against Manti (10-10, 5-3 Region 15) and Friday against San Juan (11-6, 7-1 Region 15).
