The Emery High drill team battled it out at their regional competition this past week.
The Emery Spardettes, under the direction of Lindsey Oman, took the floor at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield Tuesday, Jan. 27 to compete in the 2A North region. The region consists of nine teams including Emery, American Leadership Academy, Gunnison, Manti, North Sevier, North Summit, Rockwell, South Summit and Summit Academy.
Emery gave a killer performance and managed to come out on top in the military category with a first place win and a second place finish in the kick category. However, the surprise of the night was no placement in the top five for the dance category.
The Spardettes finished fourth overall behind Gunnison, South Summit and Manti, who claimed the title.
There were several individuals from Emery who were honored that night. The 2A All Region members from Emery were Maegan Butterfield, Brooklin Ewell and Aspen Bloomer. Also honored as the 2A Academic All Region were Bethany Brown, Aspen Bloomer and Brooklin Ewell. Also, Jadree Huntington placed third in the individual drill down competition.
