The future looks good for Emery High’s cross country team. Erin Hurst crossed the line in fifth place and is just a freshman. Her time was a 20:23. The top three runners for Emery are all freshmen  this season and they helped carry the Emery Spartans to a fourth place team finish.

“We were a little bummed that we ended behind North Sanpete after just beating them at region, but we are still happy about how we did overall  It was pretty exciting. We haven’t had an Emery team place this high in a long time,” said Coach Kristi Guymon. She went on to say she is very proud of her team and is looking forward to next season. Guymon  hopes that the success of this year’s team will encourage more girls to come out next year.

Following Hurst for the Emery team was, Tarryn Parkins crossing in 18 at 21:44, Hannah Seely 22:26, Kelsie Cox 22:44, Hannah Dyer 23:22, Kassidee Oakeson 24:45 and Sarah Collard 25:04.
