The Emery Spartans traveled to compete against 3A Pine View on Friday in the 2A-3A Preview at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield. Despite a tough battle from the Spartans, Pine View ran away with a 72-47 win.
The Spartans showed promise after the first quarter, trailing Pine View by only six points, 18-12. The Panthers continued their dominate offense to lead 36-23 at the half. Emery’s 30% shooting was not enough to propel them to a win, resulting in a 72-47 loss.
Kody Wilstead led the Spartans with 10 boards and 17 points to record the double-double againdt Pine View.
