North Sevier’s Fisher Andersen struck out 12 and picked up his fifth win of the season in a 6-5 win against the Emery Spartans Tuesday afternoon.
After starting the season 9-0, the Spartans have gone 5-3 in their last eight games.
In those losses, Emery has been outscored 27-15, including 7-5 in its last two.
The Wolves scored all six runs after the fourth inning, four alone in the sixth to secure the win. Emery’s Dillon Wilstead was handed the loss on the mound.
Ridge Nielson doubled and tripled for the Spartans. Emery scored in every inning except the second and third. A comeback attempt in the bottom of the seventh inning fell flat as Emery scored just one run.
Emery (14-3, 9-2 Region 15) will finish the regular season Tuesday at home against San Juan (3-12, 1-7 Region 15). The Spartans beat the Broncos 17-2 on April 9.
