The Emery High Track team is sending 12 members to the state Tournament at BYU May 17.
Emery placed third overall at the Region 15 meet Wednesday in Richfield.
The girl’s 4×100 relay team garnered a region championship. Members of that team include Blayr Jeffs, Paytn Jeffs, Hailee Rogers, Ashlynn Allred and Baylor Griffin. The girl’s 4×400 relay team also topped the podium. That team consists of Blayr Jeffs, Hailee Rogers, Hanna Dyer, Kelsie Cox, Jessica Guymon and Camry Johnson.
Ashlynn Allred took top honors in the girl’s 100 meters with a time of 13.07. Coach Todd Jeffs said that most of his team had qualified for state in its events before the region meet.
The team had many others place second in the region meet including Kelsi Cox in the 300-meter hurdles and Tyler Pulli in the 400-meter run. Paytn Jeffs cleared five feet in the high jump. Brendon Jorgenson took third in the long jump with a 20.04.75 distance.
