Emery Coach Steven Gordon wanted his team to jump out to an early lead and “knock them in the chin.” Though he didn’t get exactly what he wanted, he still left Kearns High School with a 2A Championship after coaching his team to a 15-9 win against Parowan on Saturday.
Emery couldn’t get anything going early, and fell behind 5-0 entering the bottom of the fourth. That’s when the offense woke up.
Emery tattooed Parowan pitching for seven runs in the inning and another seven in the fifth. Parowan’s last ditch effort in the top of the sixth fizzled out after four runs.
Baylee Bolotas picked up the win on the mound.
