A driver’s failure to yield caused a three car accident Wednesday afternoon.

At 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, a 16-year-old female driver of a 2006 Infiniti was headed northbound at the stop sign of 100 East and 100 North. The driver failed to yield at the stop sign and as she traveled through the intersection was hit by a westbound Isuzu Trooper driven by 22-year-old Kyle Kirkwood traveling on 100 North. The impact forced the Infiniti into a third vehicle, a 1996 white GMC that was southbound at the stop sign on 100 East, driven by 29-year-old Matthew Brinkerhoff.

“I hope residents understand they need to be cautious in high-traffic areas, such as 100 N,” said Price City Police Captain Bill Barnes.

The 16-year-old was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign, and there were no serious injuries reported.
