Ferron Elementary School hosted its annual geography bee on Friday.
The geography bee is a competition very similar to a spelling bee. The difference is that instead of spelling words that the students have studied, they instead answer questions about geography.
The school-wide winner of the geography bee was Alex Mesler. Second place overall in the school went to Tylee Perkins.
Students were also awarded by class. In fourth grade, the first place winner was Monty Christiansen. Second place was awarded to Camden Larsen, while third place went to Carsen Childs.
In fifth grade, the first place prize was given to Tylee Perkins. Second place went to Haidyn Roper and third was awarded to Courtney Behling.
The last awards were given to the students of sixth grade. In first place was Alex Mesler, second was Byron Christiansen with third went to Autumn Deto.
