An annual Flag Day ceremony to honor and retire American flags took place in Price City near the Peace Gardens on Friday evening. The ceremony was conducted to retire and burn past flags that had completed their service to the United States.
Flags from history were also presented to the small crowd that evening. The history of each flag and what it represented was discussed from the first flag to the flag that is flown today. Those in attendance were invited to pledge to the flag during the event in honor of the national holiday.
The ceremony was made possible by the Benevolent and Protect Order of Elks, Lodge 1550, and American Legion Post 3 along with local Boy Scouts.
