A flash flood watch is currently in effect for much of the state of Utah and will be in place until this evening.
According to the National Weather Service, Carbon and Emery counties will be under the flood watch throughout the afternoon. The weather service warns that the flash flood risk will be greatest within slot canyons and slickrock areas, normally dry washes, and near recent burn scars.
Storms are expected to dissipate around 6 p.m.
