Millsite Reservoir’s overflowing spillway caused Ferron Creek to flood Thursday afternoon.
A majority of the early flooding manifested on Millsite Golf Course’s sixth hole and continued across the adjacent road.
Prevention crews rushed to sandbag the creek to prevent further water damage to the course.
Millsite golf pro Jordan Leonard said he would rather not sandbag the course because raising the water level with barriers could potentially wash out the sixth-hole bridge.
Leonard guessed the bridge could be affected by just four inches of raised water.
Leonard also guessed the spillway would continue to allow water into the creek for another two weeks, which could mean continued flooding.
