Cole Fossat homered and Jarod Lessar struck out 11 batters in the Dinos’ 5-3 win over the North Sanpete Hawks on Thursday.
Fossat had a single to go along with his team-leading fifth home run, which ranks second in 3A. Lessar, on the heels of Fossat’s four-hitter on Tuesday against the Hawks, also gave up just four hits to earn the victory. He gave up just two earned runs in seven innings. Dallyn Mower had a double and a single and had two hits on the afternoon. Anthony Maclean had a double and two RBIs.
Carbon (8-10, 4-2 Region 12) currently sits in a tie with Juab (10-4, 4-2 Region 12) for second place. The two will meet up next week on Tuesday and Thursday to decide sole possession of second place.
