A free horse packing workshop will be conducted by the San Rafael Backcountry Horsemen on March 14. Members of the community are invited to come learn how to pack for work or play using various techniques and to demonstrate how they pack. If you are an experienced packer, please come share your knowledge. If you have never packed and are just interested in learning about horse camping, please come as well.
There will de demonstrations using barrels on saddle stands with plenty of practice time for everyone who would like to give it a try. At noon, Dr. Jensen from Emery & Carbon Animal Health will make a presentation on emergency horse care in the backcountry.
