Driggs Mortgage Team recognized Friar Tuck’s Barbershop as Small Business of the Month for the month of May.

Friar Tuck’s Barbershop, owned and operated by Kylee Howell, opened its doors in Helper in 2021. Since then, Howell has definitely made her mark on her local community. Friar Tuck’s popularity flourished, as rumors of their “hot towel” treatment quickly traveled throughout the Carbon County Corridor. Howell prides herself on offering an open and comfortable atmosphere for all of her clients.

Joined by Kaylee Muree at the end of 2023, together the two have done their fair share of community service. Prior to Muree joining Howell at Friar Tuck’s, the duo participated in a community event put on by the Helper Clinic to offer free haircuts to those in need. The two stood for hours, giving haircut after haircut, as those in need of a good cut formed a line down the street.

Beginning in January of this year, Driggs Mortgage Team started “Small Business of the Month” as a way to give recognition to local businesses in Carbon County. Driggs wanted to be able to show support to local Carbon County businesses that have shown great customer service, community service and an initiative to be more involved in their local community.

Once a business has been chosen, Driggs provides the business owner and attendees with lunch, Driggs swag and advertisement, at no expense to the business owner. Driggs makes several announcements on local radio stations and on their social media pages. They provide tables, chairs, food, media coverage, etc. The only requirement of business owners is to simply show up and enjoy lunch. Becky Driggs cooked up some yummy Cuban sandwiches for this event.
