Genesis Pregnancy Center, located at 836 East 100 North in Price, held a ribbon cutting event with the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce. The ribbon cutting was in celebration of their recent name change, as the center was previously known as the Castle Country Pregnancy Resource Center.
The Genesis Pregnancy Center is a non-profit, faith-based organization that offers free classes, resources and counseling to mothers and fathers in the Carbon and Emery counties.
Their motto is “The center exists to encourage, educate, and empower those in our local area through their pregnancy and parenting journeys,” As stated on their Facebook page.
With an array of classes being offered for both mothers and fathers, parents are able to earn “baby bucks” for each class that they attend. Those “baby bucks” can then be used in the center’s baby store, which is stocked with cribs, changing tables, diapers, clothes, food, formula and many other items. Most of the items are new, while some are gently used.
The Genesis Pregnancy Center provides free classes for single moms and dads, life skills, fatherhood lessons, labor and delivery, potty training even a preparing for a c-section class. To see a full list of the classes and services that they provide, please visit gpcenter.org or call the center at 435-637-5863.
Because the center is non-profit and does not receive any state or government funding, the center relies heavily on community donations.
On June 22 the Genesis Pregnancy Center will host a BINGO night fundraiser at the Notre Dame Hope Center, located at 185 N Carbon Ave in Price, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
