Hot dogs, prizes and the chance to throw a pie at a local cop may not sound like a typical fundraiser. For Miss Bruin Point’s Outstanding Teen Makinzey Cross, however, the idea of a Family Fun Night featuring such items and more took shape Friday night.
The event, Cross’s journey to Miss Teen Utah International, featured two, full hours of laughter and good times with games such as bingo, a fishing pond, a raffle, the opportunity to pie a cop as well as dinner for those who wished.
The venue also gave Cross a chance to promote her platform, “There is No Excuse for Domestic Abuse.” Material was provided at the event dealing with domestic abuse and covering such topics as how to recognize warning signs of domestic abuse and information on how to receive help if needed.
