The Spartans honored six seniors before the season finale against Grand on Friday night. Beau Cook, Jax Madsen, Luke Stilson, Quintin Sorensen, Riggs Griffin and Treven Brazier were all recognized. The game then began, with both teams pushing the pace. After a tightly fought first quarter, Grand held a slight lead 22-20. The Spartans continued to hang around with the Red Devils in the second, but once more Grand ended on top 43-36.
The Red Devils began to open it up in the second half and increased their lead to 15. The Spartans continued to battle, but fell 88-67.
Griffin had a big night with 19 points followed by Brazier with 13 and Brett Rasmussen with 10. Cook had a team-high eight rebounds.
#13 Emery (3-15, 1-9 Region 12) will next host #14 Delta (4-14, 3-9 Region 14) on Tuesday night in the playin game of the state tournament.
