On Tuesday, the Pirates headed to Tabiona to play the Tigers. Their claws were out as the Tigers scratched their way to a 18-6 lead. Green River played better in the second quarter but the wheels fell off in the third.
Tabiona outscored the Pirates 22-9 in the quarter and went on to win 65-34. Luis Hernandez continued his strong start with 13 points followed by 10 points from Jordan Anderson. The Pirates could not contain sophomore Chance Lazenby, however, as he shot 77% from the field and finished with 27 points.
After a long road trip, Green River will open its doors for the first home contests of the year. On Wednesday, Mount Vernon (1-2) will come to town. The Pirates will then play Valley (1-3) on Friday and Tintic (0-4) on Saturday.
