The Pinnacle Panthers hosted rival Green River for a matchup on Monday. The Pirates didn’t allow the Panthers any breathing room as they cruised to a 62-29 win.
Green River came out in the first with an offensive push that was too much for Pinnacle. The visiting team scored 14 points to Pinnacle’s five. The onslaught did not diminish as the Pirates went on the outscore the host team in each quarter.
Green River went into the break with an impressive 24-8 lead over Pinnacle. Forced turnovers helped the Pirates as they cruised to the 33-point win.
TJ Hughes led Green River’s offense with 14 points followed by Corbin Mecham with 11. For Pinnacle, Noah Mascarenas was the leading scorer with 15 points, nine of them from behind the arc.
Both teams are slated to take on Monument Valley later this week. Green River will play on Friday while Pinnacle will look forward to a matchup on Saturday.
