Overflow from the Price River caused emergency evacuations in Pillings Tailer Court on Saturday afternoon. Emergency personal worked to evacuate residents, save stranded animals and collect personal belongings and vehicles. The Price City Police Department, the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, Carbon County Search and Rescue, and various other agencies assisted on scene.
According to Price City Police Sgt. Kelly Maynes, some homes are even in danger of floating away from the flood and several individuals had to be rescued from their homes.
All residents from the trailer court have been evacuated and are staying at the Carbon County Event Center. Power and sewer have been shut off at Pillings while crews work.
Those affected by the flood can go to the event center. Food, clothing, blankets, cots, medical supplies and more are being provided by the Red Cross for flood victims. Even those with a place to stay are welcome at the events center for resources. Donations are being accepted.
Volunteers are also asked to report to the Carbon County Road Department located on Airport Road to assist by filling sandbags.
