The Heirloom Inn honored resident Mary Vigor on Friday morning as she gears up to celebrate her 103 birthday on Nov. 14.
Vigor is a native of the area, stating that she was born in Hiawatha. While reminiscing of the years she grew up, Vigor recalled there being a slight panic when the price of a loaf of bread raised above the previous price of $0.07. Welcoming all to the Heirloom Inn, cupcakes, a fact board of the year Vigor was born and more were enjoyed by all in attendance.
Vigor was also treated by students from Carbon High School, who paid a special visit to sing her a hearty rendition of “Happy Birthday to You.”
