Members of Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) at Helper Middle School and some students from Sally Mauro competed in a Cupcake Wars event on Wednesday.
According to FCCLA adviser Susan Heller, 38 students competed in the event. Competitors included FCCLA members in sixth, seventh and eighth grade at Helper Middle School and some fifth grade students from Sally Mauro.
“I like how they did cupcakes this year instead of cakes,” FCCLA member Shaubre Stockdale explained. “It was a new way to get creative.”
A silent auction took place after the cupcakes were complete. Members of the community were able to bid for a chance to take home their favorite cupcake creation.
