Helper City has welcomed new postmaster Ron Mendell, a 25-year-veteran of the United States Postal Service, to the city’s post office. Mendell was appointed to the head of the office after the retirement of Linda Uzelac in April.
Mendell began his career in Oceanside, Calif. as a letter carrier. Later, his first assignment in Utah was at the Springville office. Most recently, Mendell was a supervisor for the Postal Service in Orem.
Mendell was born in Saigon, Vietnam. His father had a career in the army and was stationed in Vietnam at the time of his birth. Mendell attended school in California before joining the Postal Service. He is currently residing in Spanish Fork and has two daughters, one of which is attending Utah State University in Logan.
