Adam Ewell finished fourth overall and first in his age group in the recent St. George Trick or Tri Triathlon. Ewell finished the 400-meter swim, 10-mile bike ride and 5K run in 59 minutes and 29 seconds. This was a sprint race, longer than a beginner race but shorter than an Olympic distance.
Ewell started running in junior high and was hooked immediately. He trains five days a week, swimming and biking back-to-back. With the construction between Huntington and Castle Dale he has been riding his bike to the pool. He plans to train and participate in triathlons for the rest of his life. He says he is just reaching the best part of his life. Ewell’s next triathlon is Nov. 5 in Orem.
Ewell and his wife, Kemish, and three children are residents of Huntington.
