During a shed hunting expedition up Consumers Canyon on Sunday, a group located what they believed to be a human skull. Authorities were contacted and the apparent skull was turned over to officials at the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office.
Archaeologists at the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) have been contacted in regards to the skull. Currently, the sheriff’s office is awaiting the BLM to investigate the skull and determine its age.
It is believed that the skull may be archaeological and this must be proven or denied before investigation into more sinister meanings could possibly begin.
While it was anticipated that a representative of the BLM would arrive to investigate on Tuesday, it was reported that they were to arrive on Wednesday to begin a thorough investigation of the skull.
