Carbon County Sheriff’s Office Press Release
At approximately 10:15 p.m. Saturday, Carbon County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover on Pinnacle Canyon Road northwest of Price.
Investigation at the scene by Carbon County Deputy Sawyer Leonard revealed that a gray Ford F-150 pickup driven by a 16-year-old male left the gravel roadway and rolled on its top, coming to the rest at the bottom of a 25-foot ravine, approximately 50 feet off the west side of the road.
Kaitlyn Hansen, 15, of Price, died at the scene.
The 16-year-old driver and two passengers, aged 16 and 17, were transported by ambulance to Castleview Hospital with multiple injuries.
Only one of the vehicle occupants was wearing a seat belt.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by personnel from the Price Fire Department, Carbon County Ambulance and Utah Highway Patrol.
