DWR will provide tackle and teach kids how to fish.

Green River – The Division of Wildlife Resources is busy stocking a pond at Green River State Park for a Kids’ Fishing Day.

The event will be held Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The event is free. Children under 12 years old don’t need a license to fish. Those 12 years of age or older need to make sure they bring their license with them.

To ensure good fishing for the 8- to 10-inch rainbows, volunteers will be available to provide individual instruction. If you don’t have your own fishing equipment, the DWR will provide rods, reels and bait. Kids under 14 years old will also be eligible for prizes.

For all participants, the limit is two fish.

For more information, call Walt Maldonado, DWR regional volunteer coordinator, at 435-820-8147.
