The Castle Valley Center hosted a graduation celebration last week for this year’s graduates. Kyle Morgan and Kaylea Brinkworth graduated in front of fellow students, family and friends on Thursday. The Boy Scouts led the presentation of the colors. Then there were several speakers at the graduation including family members of the two graduates.
Brinkworth’s two brothers and father spoke on how much Kaylea has grown in her time at the center. Kaylea, once an extremely shy young girl, now loves to talk and meet people. “At home, she sings at the top of her lungs. Will walk up to a stranger and say ‘Hi, how are you?'” said Mathew Brinkworth, Kaylea’s brother. Her father also touched on her speech improvement while with the center and reiterated how proud he is of Kaylea for her accomplishments.
Kyle’s mother gave examples of his fun, “jokester” personality and how excited he was to graduate. “He’s been waiting for graduation for almost six years, since his older brother graduated. Every single day [he asked], ‘Mom, do I graduate? Mom, do I graduate?’ and so on… and today is the day. Congratulations, Kyle Morgan, you did it! You graduated!”
The school choir joined in with the festivities and sung a number of popular songs for the graduates, including “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus and “A Million Dreams” from “The Greatest Showman.”
