The Lady Dino golf team tied for third in its season opener at a region tournament at Richfield’s Cove View Golf Course on Thursday.
Carbon posted a team score of 105 points. Laini Davis led the team with 34 points followed by Aubrey Fausett with 28. Jordan Bianco and Indie Gardner rounded out the top four with 22 and 21, respectively.
High school girls’ golf teams use a point system where par equals five points. A point is then added or subtracted a birdie or bogie. A quadruple bogie is the highest amount of strokes a player may take.
Juab won the tournament with a score of 158 and Richfield was second with 129. Canyon View tied with Carbon at 105.
“We did ok,” said head coach Kenji Otani. “It was a good benchmark outing. I’m proud of the girls. They did what I asked and tried on every shot. We still have a lot of golf to play.”
