The Lady Dinos golf team traveled to Nephi on Wednesday to compete in a cold and rainy match. Despite the weather, Carbon walked away with a first place finish.

Due to weather conditions, the match was called after five holes. The Dinos were disappointed that they could not complete the match, but they sealed the win by 11 points. Carbon’s team total 74 points pushed them past Richfield with 63 points and Juab with 42.

Katie Felice led the team with 21 points. Hailey Kirkwood and Taylor Hammack each finished with 18 and Braxton Gibson and Kaycee Gilson had 17.

“My girls were very disappointed that they did not get to finish and I wasn’t very happy with the decision to call the match either,” stated Carbon coach Kenji Otani. “It definitely shows how dedicated these girls are to the game. They make me very proud.”

Carbon will host its first home match of the year on Wednesday.
