The Lady Dinos notched their first region victory of the season in a commanding win against Union on Tuesday. Carbon took down the hosting Cougars 5-1 in both teams’ region opener.
Grace Broadbear and Ryan Brady dominated in the game as they led the Dino defense. The team connected with the back of the net four times in the first half while holding Union to a lone goal.
The tempo slowed after the break as the Dinos focused on defense. Carbon managed one more goal while keeping Union scoreless to close out the game.
Broadbear netted three goals in the game while Brady added two.
The Dinos (2-1, 1-0 Region 14) will continue region play on Thursday as the team hosts Providence Hall (2-1, 1-0 Region 14) in Price. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.
