Carbon, with seven returning seniors and nine new-coming freshmen, took the court on Thursday for their annual blue and white game. The varsity played the junior varsity team for a close match after the freshman played the sophomore team.
The seven returning seniors include middle blocker Celeste Smith, outside hitter Beth Child, middle blocker Aubree Robinett, outside/right side hitter Taylor Oliver, libero Katee Martinez, defensive specialist Karina Ivory and setter Lauren Rice. Taylor Oliver and Karina Ivory made a strong return after suffering injuries last season. Junior outside hitter Jordan Scoggins also contributed to the varsity win on Thursday.
The Lady Dino’s are also welcoming nine new freshman to their roster to contribute to the success of the program.
Coach Danielle Jensen is returning for her third season as head coach. “I am excited for this season,” she said. “The seven returning seniors will bring a lot of experience and maturity to our team.”
Carbon will travel to Provo to participate in a two-day tournament Friday and Saturday. They will return to their home court for a rival match against Emery on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
