The recognition portion of the Carbon School District board meeting’s agenda was flush with those that had made recent accomplishments.

Michael Keller, acting as the Special Education Director, first presented recognition to a handful of women. Beverly Martinez was first on the list, recognized for outstanding preschool services in the district. Next was Jamie Bradley, awarded for outstanding work in reviewing records and having 100 percent for records compliance in the most recent review from the state office.

Deborah Worley was highlighted for improving the indicator 14 scores for transition services and post-high school outcomes.

Christine Petty rounded out the recognition time for having an outstanding review of adult services for the fiscal year 2020 contract review with the division of human resources. The ladies were all given plaques for their efforts.

Then, the Carbon High School Lady Dinos Soccer team was up for recognition. The girls took fifth place at state and the region title. They were undefeated at home and are the first ever region champions for Carbon soccer. The team was also ranked throughout the season as fourth or fifth in the state.

Though many players weren’t able to attend the meeting due to prior engagements, a handful of team members were there to represent. The girls took time to introduce themselves to the board, state their age, grade and position on the team.
