As part of the weekend’s Fruita Tournament, the Carbon High Lady Dinos opened the action on a high note, taking a 36-28 victory against the Grand Junction Tigers Thursday night.
Carbon grabbed a 10-6 lead in the first and continued it into the second, ending the first half 22-14. The Lady Dinos continued their work, putting up 10 and four in the third and fourth, respectively, en route to the victory.
Senior Lindsey Blanc led her team in scoring with a game-high eight points and one three-point shot. Junior Kelsey Sorenson was right behind, putting up seven points and two three-pointers. Taylor Passarella also helped with her six points for the blue and white.
Carbon will continue their work in the tournament, facing off against the Hanceville Bulldogs Friday night. Action is slated to begin at 6 p.m.
